Our History

The Lodge was born out of Patricia Lodge in 1957 when a small group of Masons decided that their own personal Masonic journeys would be improved by forming their own Lodge and facing the challenges and difficulties inherent with such a move. Flash-forward fifty years and the descendants of these Pioneers are overjoyed to have recently celebrated their Jubilee Year in one of the most successful and well-known Lodges in the Provincial Capital District . What came in between will be added to this website in due time as enlightening stories and lessons learned are finally recorded and preserved so that the Wisdom of the first Fifty years of Exemplar can be passed down to the newest Generation of Freemasons only now entering the Craft…

How do I get involved?

Exemplar is a duly constituted member of the World-Wide Masonic Brotherhood, meeting under the authority of the Grand Lodge of Alberta and is designated Lodge number one-hundred seventy-five therein.

We meet on the 1st (and often 3rd!) Thursday of each month (except in July and August) at Freemasons' Hall 10318 - 100th Avenue in Edmonton, Alberta starting at 7:30 PM. Visitors are always welcome and our reputation for hospitality is well known!

Our Mission: to take GOOD MEN and make them BETTER through an understanding of the Sacred Rites and Hidden Mysteries of Ancient Freemasonry.
